This past weekend was beautiful for those of us who had the opportunity to get away to the cottage or sit out by the pool. For Ottawa firefighters however, the weather meant responding to roughly 140 calls since Friday evening and continuing their efforts to control the 100+acre NCC brush fire in the west end. The NCC fire has been burning since Thursday of last week and requires round the clock attention.
Councillor Allan Hubley of ward 23 visited the firefighters at the site yesterday to bring pizza to the men and women who are working hard to keep our community safe.
