Protecting our Community
It was my privilege to tour Kanata south with the community Police Officer. The ride along was an educational experience. Kanata South is safe and secure thanks to the fantastic women and men of the Ottawa Police Service.
I was honoured to attend the graduation ceremony for the Advanced Leadership Program. The Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) is a new program to the City of Ottawa, Parks Recreation and Cultural Services Department that is running at five different locations citywide this summer. ALP is designed to help Ottawa youth get job ready. Congratulations to the Kanata South graduates for their great accomplishment.
I had the pleasure of attending block parties on Carronbridge circle and Young’s Pond Court last weekend. I believe that community involvement is a strong part of creating a fun, safe place to call home. Thank you to Philip Aldis and Maureen Rogerson for their effort in bringing thier communities together.
I also enjoyed attending the well deserved Volunteer Appreciation night at the Kanata Sports Club. For over 25 years now, the Club has donated over $1,500,000 to various causes through the efforts of its dedicated volunteers.
This week I joined Carleton-Mississippi Mills MP Gordon O’Connor for his “In Your Area” event. This was a great opportunity for residents to share their comments and ideas. Special thanks to MP O’Connor for hosting this great discussion.
Residential Protective Plumbing Program
A reminder to residents in Kanata South that the opportunity to get 100% coverage for the Residential Protective Plumbing Program (RPPP) for those who qualify is running out and I want to encourage all residents to consider this important protective measure for their properties. For more information please visit the infrastructure section of my website.
