Overland Drainage Improvements at Oakburn Road
West End Flood Mitigation Program
Overland Drainage Improvements at Oakburn Road
Contract No. ISD12-1009
The firm Ottawa D-Squared Construction Ltd. has been engaged to carry-out a project as part of the West End Flood Mitigation Program for overland drainage improvements on Oakburn Road. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start the end of the week of July 9, 2012. Barring any construction delays, this project is expected to be completed by late summer 2012.
The project involves the re-grading (i.e. lowering) of the existing paved pathway located between Oakburn Road and Abbeyhill Drive in order to provide localised flood relief. Also included in this project are minor roadway and/or driveway and sidewalk re-grading as well as associated landscaping within the City’s property.
To allow the work to be completed in a timely manner, the pathway will be closed during construction. In addition, there will be short periods that Oakburn Road, in the vicinity of this pathway, will be reduced to one lane.
As part of this contract, Ottawa D-Squared Ltd. is assuming full responsibility for the construction work until it is entirely completed. Their company will take every precaution to minimize interruptions to the normal living of your family. This work may result in some inconvenience to you such as noise, dust, and possible vibrations during construction.
The Ottawa Construction Association has requested your assistance in minimizing theft of construction equipment. If you notice any unusual activity on the job site between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (overnight), please contact the police.
| The City is committed to minimizing any disruption and inconvenience to the public during construction. We again would like to thank you for your patience and co-operation during the construction.
