Coyote Sightings

Residents are encouraged  to either contact the following 3 departments directly with details of the incident or provide our office with a detailed description of the incident and then we will submit on your behalf. This includes name, phone number, address, date, situation, etc…

1. First we inform our local Police Office of the sighting and the location it occurred at.  If you feel immediate danger from the coyotes please contact the police at 9-1-1 in order to have an officer dispatched.

2. The second department we contact is the Ministry of Natural Resource. Our contact there is Tammy Watson at tammy.watson1@ontario.ca.

3. By-law is also contacted regarding the sighting. The City and By-law do not have a program in place to address these types of complaints, so we turn to the MNR. Regardless, it is important to keep them in the loop if we receive any complaints regarding coyotes. You can reach them by emailing 311@ottawa.ca.

Sending out a detailed report to the above 3 email addresses is what our office recommends in order to report coyote incidents.
