Please email me at Allan.Hubley@Ottawa.ca if you would like to be signed up for my electronic newsletter that we will begin to send out monthly this year and as always, please contact me should you have any municipal concerns or issues.

Thank you very much to Paramedic Rob and student Kiersten who ran our Influenza and Wellness Clinic this past Saturday at the Hazeldean Mall.

Thank you to all residents who stopped by for a Wellness Check and vaccination

Woodlot Rehabilitation Program

As part of the Woodlot Rehabilitation Program and Ottawa’s Emerald Ash Borer Strategy, Forestry Services will be working in the Katimavik Woods located at 7 Katimavik Road and Cattail Creek Park located at 38 Chimo Drive over the next few months. The rehabilitation program will begin with removal of dead and hazardous trees and will end with a tree planting in 2018. The tree removal work is scheduled to mid January and should be completed by the end of the month. During the removal work and for the duration of this portion of the project, pedestrians will not be allowed to access specific areas of the Katimavik Woods and Cattail Creek Park (EAB signage, barricades and on-site personnel will be restricting access).

Residents living near the removal work will receive a notice in the mail outlining the work to de done.  Further details can be found on my website under the information tab (Parks Environment/EAB)

Door to Door Sales Scam on Drinking Water

The City of Ottawa is warning residents about door-to-door salespeople posing as water-quality technicians, making false claims about the quality of City drinking water.

These individuals have been known to approach residents to sell water filtration or treatment systems and provide incorrect information pertaining to water quality.

Residents are reminded that:

  • City employees do not contact residents to sell products or services
  • Except for emergency situations, home access is scheduled in advance
  • City employees carry identification at all times – you have the right to ask for ID
  • City employees always travel in City of Ottawa logo-identified marked vehicles
  • Should you have concerns or wish to report suspicious visits or calls, please contact 3-1-1

More information on door-to-door imposters is available on ottawa.ca.
