Mayor Watson and Councillor Hubley Inspect Infrastructure Projects in Kanata South

Press Release

For Immediate Release, October 1, 2013

Yesterday I was joined by Mayor Watson in Kanata South to review critical infrastructure projects underway to help residents get from point A to point B safely and efficiently.

The rehabilitation of Eagleson Road between Cope Road and Hazeldean Road is an Ottawa on the Move project, and will ensure a major arterial road is in prime condition heading into the winter.

“Residents have made it clear to me that they wanted to see an improved Eagleson Road,” said Councillor Hubley. “I made this project a priority and pushed to ensure it would be done in 2013.”

A second project will modify Eagleson Road near the Park and Ride.  As a result, the intersection will become safer for both pedestrians and motorists with the following necessary upgrades:

  • Reconfiguration of the end of the median
  • Enlarging the island on the South-East corner of the intersection
  • Pedestrian crossing realignment to ensure maximum safety

All these changes will help ensure residents can safely cross the road.
